i don't even know how to handle all the luxuries of canadian life
i will never sleep!
uninhibited wireless internet access
endless food at my fingertips
warm running water
fruit
carpets
scented lotions
sweaters
delight upon delight
ahem. here i am in the true north (strong and free).
three flights later. i have arrived in my home on cottonwood street in orangeville. ah suburbia. how bizarrely different and yet strangely familiar you are.
it's great to be together with my family. haven't seen my sister meg for about a year --and in a few days she walks down the aisle!
talk about adjustments.
i'm overwhelmed, but very grateful. this week is all about my family. and my sister. what an incredible woman. i get to meet her fiance tomorrow! so excited. tonight i tried on my dress and thankfully - it fits.
i have yet to dig out my clothes that i left behind packed away in giant tupperwares. and so --i'm laying on the carpeted floor of my living room in a comfy sweater (thanks ex-b/f) and a kanga covering my lower half. my toes are freezing. but surprisingly, i'm enjoying the colder weather. but only because i know it's just for a week! lord knows i wouldn't have it in me to survive another canadian winter. ugh...
lots happening this week. hoping to find times to spend with god and do some good processing.
i have so many stories to tell that i can hardly contain myself. i want to show everyone pictures. even strangers that i met on the plane!
i have missed out on so much here but have been beyond blessed by my life in tanzania. can't wait to catch up with the people who mean the most to me.
while it is overwhelming and quite strange to be here - it kind of feels like i never left. like maybe my life in africa was all just a dream and it didn't actually happen. i don't like that.
